Focus On What YOU Can Do

I hope that you are well and staying safe!

In this edition of #BloggingBronicosBrain, I wanted to talk about why focusing on what you CAN DO is good for you AND those around you.

Focusing on what you CAN DO is critical to your self-development, growth, and performance. Nowadays, we easily become distracted by things we didn’t even mean to get distracted by. Among these are social media, streaming services, TV, etc.

Does that sound familiar to you? It may be Instagram or Tik Tok and you’re scrolling through, clicking on a page or video, and you keep scrolling… and scrolling… and scrolling. And before you know it, you’ve been on your phone for 1,2, maybe even 3 hours looking at the lives of others!

In most cases, you see the success stories of those around you or the celebrities you follow. Naturally, you then you start comparing yourself with them. You may think, “Man, I wish I had what they have,” or “If I could get _____, then I could get to the next level,” and eventually you may even think, “I’ll never make it!”

Ultimately, what others do or achieve has no bearing on what you can accomplish.

What others do is not within your control, so why focus on it? Embrace your own value and don’t be measured by others, but rather by what you want! If you concentrate on what you wish to achieve, you can set goals or find a path which leads you in the right direction. And now, since you’re in charge, you’ve got more control over the outcome! But, it’s only when you focus on your own development, worth, and growth that you can create the life you want.

Secondly, when you create a more disciplined, goal-oriented reality for yourself, everyone around you will benefit!

Your improvement will push your teammates and peers to become better as well. Just think about it. As a team member, you know that you need everyone to bring their ‘A game’ to achieve great success. By committing to growing your game and giving your all, you can hold others to a higher standard. Your commitment and focus will create an environment that fosters collective growth.

Simply put, focus on being the best version of yourself, your improved performance pushes your teammates to improve.

Feel me?

As simple as it sounds, this is one of the most effective ways to develop great teams, players, and people. Every person has unique talents and gifts. Don’t worry about the talents or gifts of others. Concentrate on developing and maximizing your talents and gifts first. Then, set a standard that inspires others to become better by doing your best at practice or training every day.

And if you do this, it’s absolutely possible that you’ll accomplish even more than you could ever imagine.

Stay focused, never give up and keep grinding!

“Optimize your mind for your Grind!”
