What’s up everyone, it’s #BB13 bringing you another edition of #BloggingBronicosBrain.
I hope everyone has had a great start to the fall season.
The end of the year is only two months away, so I have to ask: How are you doing with your new year’s resolutions?
Did you stick with them? Alter them? Or just give up on them completely? Take a moment to reflect on what you said you wanted to do this year, and assess and evaluate how well you’ve been able to achieve them.
This edition is all about ‘process’ and how we can find sustainability by playing the long game rather than a “quick fix” here and there.
Every time we go on Instagram, Twitter, tik tok, or Facebook, we tend to see a bunch of other people’s “highlights” posted. How does that make you feel? Do you feel envious of them achieving their goals? Does it make you happy to see them succeed? Or does it make you feel bad about yourself because you don’t seem as far along in your life as others? Whatever the case may be, I have experienced all three emotions at some point as I scrolled through my social media platforms. While I highly encourage you to celebrate others’ successes, I would like to emphasize the following:
Success does NOT happen overnight.
When we set out to accomplish something, there are going to be bumps in the road, ups and downs, highs and lows. As I mentioned earlier, social media is a bunch of highlight reels. The products of other people’s hard work, determination, and resilience are all we see. We fail to realize that they went through the same process complete with its highs and lows. Success doesn’t happen overnight. We don’t just wake up one morning and succeed.
In order to achieve our dreams and goals, we must wake up every day and fight, claw, and grind hard. And the best part is, that’s what makes it meaningful! Imagine waking up one day and achieving your dreams without putting a single drop of effort into them. Personally, I would hate that! At first, it might seem cool, but then you’d realize you didn’t contribute to achieving it, so is it really ‘yours’? That’s for you to decide.
Ultimately, our goals, dreams, and lives are made meaningful by the work we put into them. By the process.
I love this quote about “overnight success stories” that tell the truth behind it all:
