Jan 22, 2024Stepping onto Wake Forest University, I was a "scrub.” πΆβοΈ
No national or regional team experience. Never even made an ODP team. π«
No one knew my name. π€·βοΈ
But I knew theirs. π
They were youth soccer legends in my eyes. Guys that captained our US Youth national teams since they were in diapers. πΌβ½
To them, and the coaches, I was a mere warm body for drills and scrimmages – an afterthought they had already dismissed. But I was no stranger to being counted out. π
So I did what I knew best – I worked as hard as I possibly could. I fought for every ball with relentless determination. πͺβ½
As the season unfolded, I transformed from a ‘scrub’ into a contributor. My grit and desire granted me minutes that weren't in the script. π
As I look back, I realize God was using my entire life, the good and bad, the ups and downs, to prepare me for this. π
Your turn! π
- What are you up against?
- What ‘impossible’ battles are you fighting?
- What ‘unrealistic’ dreams are you chasing? π€π
Remember, your fire, your grit, your relentless pursuit - that's your superpower. So, lace up your metaphorical cleats, step onto your battlefield, and fight. π₯ΎποΈ
In the end, it's not about where you start—it's about the tenacity with which you chase your dreams. ππ
