Cari Roccaro, a dynamic midfielder for the Chicago Red Stars, has built an inspiring career that combines athletic excellence with advocacy for mental health. Raised in East Islip, New York, Cari honed her skills with the Long Island Fury and New York Fury before making waves internationally as part of the United States squad that captured the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in 2012.
Her collegiate years at Notre Dame were marked by standout performances, earning her recognition as Soccer America's Women’s Freshman of the Year. Cari’s professional journey through the Houston Dash, North Carolina Courage, and Angel City FC includes two NWSL Championships and countless lessons about the mental challenges of elite soccer.
Now, as a Soccer Resilience Ambassador, Cari is passionate about breaking the stigma around mental health in sports. Through her story, she inspires others to embrace the mental tools necessary to thrive both on and off the field.
